About HomemadeRecipe.net

HomemadeRecipe.net helps home cooks answer a familiar question: what can I make with what I already have? We publish straightforward recipes built on pantry staples, practical guides to storing and substituting everyday ingredients, and a free AI tool that suggests recipes from the ingredients you list.

What you will find here

  • 24 recipes that use ingredients most supermarkets stock, with ingredient amounts you can scale, step-by-step instructions, substitutions, and storage notes.
  • 12 ingredient guides covering storage, shelf life, substitutions, and common mistakes for staples such as eggs, rice, and canned beans.
  • 10 cooking guides on topics like using leftover vegetables, emergency substitutions, and cooking on a budget.
  • The AI recipe generator, which suggests up to three recipes from your ingredient list. It is free, needs no account, and is limited to a few searches a day so it stays available.

The site is written for beginner and everyday cooks working with ordinary equipment: a stovetop, an oven, a skillet, and a pot.

Who publishes the site

HomemadeRecipe.net is an independent website. Recipes and articles are published under the byline “HomemadeRecipe.net Editors”. We do not list individual profiles yet; when we do, every profile will be a real person who has agreed to appear, with an accurate description of their experience.

How our content is produced

We use AI writing tools to help draft and edit our recipes and guides. The publisher is responsible for everything on the site. Food-safety statements, such as cooking temperatures and how long leftovers keep, are checked against public guidance from agencies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the UK Food Standards Agency, and the NHS, and articles link to those sources.

Our recipes are not yet tested in a formal test kitchen. Prep and cook times are realistic estimates, and results vary with your stove, pans, and ingredients. We describe a recipe as tested only when it has actually been cooked from the published version. Read more in our Editorial Policy.

How the AI recipe generator works

When you submit ingredients, our server sends your list and filters to Google's Gemini model with instructions to suggest realistic home recipes, separate what you have from what you would need, respect your diet and time filters, and include safe cooking temperatures. Results appear immediately and are not reviewed by a person, so they are clearly labelled as AI suggestions. If the AI service is unavailable, the tool shows matching recipes from our own library instead and says so.

Funding

The site is free to use. It does not currently carry ads, affiliate links, or sponsored content. We may add clearly labelled display advertising in future; see our Advertising Disclosure.
