Copyright & DMCA Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

We respect the work of recipe writers, photographers, and publishers. If you believe something on HomemadeRecipe.net infringes your copyright, tell us and we will look into it promptly.

Where our content comes from

  • Recipe text, ingredient guides, and articles are written for this site.
  • Photos come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License. They are illustrative and generally do not show the exact dish in the recipe.
  • The U.S. Copyright Office notes that a mere list of ingredients is not protected by copyright, while substantial literary expression in a recipe can be (Circular 33). Common dishes appear on many sites; our wording is our own.

How to send a notice

Email editorial@homemaderecipe.net with the subject line “Copyright notice” and include:

  1. a description of, or link to, the copyrighted work;
  2. the URL of the page on this site where the material appears;
  3. your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address;
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law;
  5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

These are the elements of a notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)). You do not need to be in the United States to contact us.

What happens next

We review each complete notice and, where it is valid, remove or change the material and let you know. If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3).
