Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. HomemadeRecipe.net currently uses only storage that is strictly necessary for the features you choose to use. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| homemaderecipe_anon_id | First-party cookie, strictly necessary, httpOnly | A random identifier used only to apply the AI generator's daily limit. Set only after you use the generator. | 30 days |
| homemaderecipe_usage | First-party cookie, strictly necessary, httpOnly | Stores today's date and how many AI searches you have used. Set only after you use the generator. | 24 hours |
| homemaderecipe_nutrition_calc_v1 | Browser local storage, functional | Keeps your last entries in the nutrition calculator so they survive a page reload. Set only if you use the calculator; never sent to our server. The Clear button resets it. | Until you clear site data |
| homemaderecipe_privacy_choices_v2 | Browser local storage, strictly necessary | Remembers the options you saved in Privacy choices. Never sent to our server. | Until you clear site data |
“httpOnly” means scripts running in the page cannot read the cookie; only our server can. Neither cookie contains your name, email address, or the ingredients you typed.
Third-party cookies
None at present. Pages do not embed analytics, advertising, social-media widgets, or video players. Photos are loaded directly from Unsplash's image servers, which receive standard request information.
If we add advertising (for example Google AdSense) or analytics in the future, this table will be updated before the change, and optional cookies will stay off until you agree to them. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Managing your choices
Open at any time, including from the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the two generator cookies, the rest of the site works normally; the AI generator still works, but the daily limit is then enforced by our server alone.
